The last witch Anna Göldi. L'ultima strega Anna Göldi.

Talking about witches and the inquisition, I can only say we can talk about it for a long time but I want to tell you the story of Anna Göldi, she was known as the last witch in Europe and was executed for witchcraft. Anna worked in Glarus, Switzerland as a maidservant for Johann Jakob Tschudi, a doctor and judge. Tschudi reported her for having put needles in the bread and milk of one of his daughters, Anna Maria, apparently through supernatural means. After Anna Maria feels bad and starts having convulsions, Göldi decides to escape and on her head is issued a reward of 100 crowns. Unfortunately, Göldi is arrested and under torture, admits to entering in a pact with the Devil. She withdrew her confession after the torture ended, but was sentenced on June 18, 1782 to execution by decapitation. The charges were officially of "poisoning" and witchcraft. Anna Göldi was exonerated only after 226 years after her death. 

Ecco parlando di streghe, posso dire che l'inquisizione uccise parecchie persone che furono condannate per stregoneria. Ci sono libri su libri e su questo argomento si potrebbe parlare all'infinito, ma io voglio parlare di Anna Göldi, l'ultima strega che fu condannata per stregoneria in Europa. Ma cominciamo dall'inizio: nel settembre 1780 Anna viene assunta presso la famiglia del medico, dottore e giudice Johann Jakob Tschudi-Elmer. Il suo compito è soprattutto quello di prendersi cura della piccola figlia dei Tschudi-Elmer, Anna Maria, che ha 7 anni e l'accompagna nelle passeggiate e visite. Il 9 settembre 1781 la Göldi da alla piccola Anna Maria un biscotto "Läkerli", tipica specialità di quelle parti. Un mese dopo viene trovato il primo spillo di una lunga serie nella tazza della piccola Anna Maria. Si disse allora che quel biscotto, fosse stato "stregato" da Anna Göldi e contenesse spilli. Passano giorni e nel cibo della piccola Anna Maria vengono trovati sempre più spilli e Anna decide di confidarsi con un parroco che però la caccia in malo modo dalla Chiesa. La piccola Anna Maria comincia a soffrire di convulsioni e la Göldi decide di fuggire. Su di lei si emette una taglia di 100 corone, una somma considerevole per quei tempi. Nonostante fugga in un villaggio abbastanza distante e si nasconde bene, viene catturata e arrestata il 21 febbraio 1782. Anna viene portata in prigione dove subisce interrogatori interminabili e torture, nonostante si proclama sempre innocente, dopo terribili torture ammette di aver fatto un patto con il Diavolo. Il suo ex datore di lavoro, Johann Jakob fa di tutto per farla condannare e ci riesce.Il 6 giugno 1782 il consiglio evangelico Glaronese con 32 voti contro 30 la giudica colpevole di essere un'avvelenatrice e il 13 giugno 1782 Anna Göldi muore per decapitazione. Solo 226 anni dall'esecuzione, Anna Göldi viene finalmente riabilitata dal parlamento cantonale di Glarona.

It happens sometimes, you listen to an empty frequency on the radio...Well well...Could you believe that it is possible to hear messages from the beyond through these frequencies? 

EVP are sounds found on electronic recordings (from an empty frequency) that are interpreted as spirit voices. The best moment to register these sounds is during a storm, so if the weather outside is very bad and its raining, be ready to register spirit voices! 

How to record: turn on the radio, find an empty frequency and start to record. Remember: it can takes days, weeks or maybe even months but at the end you will may catch something.

Capita ogni tanto che ci si imbatte in una frequenza radio vuota. Bene...bene...Lo sapevate che in queste frequenze si possono sentire voci dall'aldilà?
EVP é il cosidetto fenomeno delle voci elettroniche. Sono suoni registrati da frequenze vuote che a quanto pare vogliono essere voci degli spiriti che comunicano con noi attraverso apparecchi elettronici. Il momento migliore per registrare queste voci è durante un temporale,quindi se il tempo é brutto e piove a dirotto, siate pronti a registrare le voci degli spiriti!

Come registrare: é molto semplice, accendete la radio, trovate una frequenza vuota e cominciate a registrare. Ricordate: si potrebbe andare avanti a registrare per giorni, settimane o adirittura mesi ma alla fine potreste "acchiappare" un messaggio dall'aldilà.

Poveglia, Venice: ghost island

You maybe were a lot of times in Venice, you visited Piazza San Marco, the Murano museum, you took a lot of pictures at Rialto bridge and made a romantic trip on a gondola...right? But what you maybe don't know is: there is a ghost island in Venice, Poveglia...an the story is pretty creepy...In the 18th century Poveglia had become a quarantine station for ships arriving at Venice.The island was used to host people with plague disease waiting to die...Their ghosts returned to haunt the island...
1922:  the island became home for a mental hospital where a doctor made some experiments on patients, in fact they all were sure to hear some voices and see ghosts. They couldn't sleep at night because of those voices...But who will believe in a mentally ill person? After a while the doctor threw himself from the hospital tower, he also heard this voices and got mad. The hospital was closed in the 70's and since then the island is uninhabited. You can see the rests of the hospital and smell the death in the air. Some estimates suggest that 100,000 people died on the island over the centuries. Magari siete stati già un paio di volte a Venezia, avete visitato Piazza San Marco, il museo Murano, avete fatto tante foto al ponte di Rialto e un giro romantico in gondola giusto? Ma quello che forse non sapete é che c'é un'isola fantasma a Venezia, Poveglia...La sua storia é molto inquietante. Nel diciottesimo secolo, Poveglia era diventata un'isola dove mandavano i malati di peste in quarantena, in attesa della morte...I loro fantasmi però, ritornarono a tormentare l'isola...
Nel 1922 l'isola ospitò un ospedale per malati di mente dove un dottore fece degli esperimenti atroci sui pazienti. Questi infatti erano convinti di sentire delle voci e vedere dei fantasmi, non riuscivano a dormire la notte e si lamentavano delle continue visioni, ma chi crederebbe ad un malato di mente? Dopo un po' di tempo il dottore si suicidò buttandosi giù dalla torre dell'ospedale, anche lui convinto di sentire delle voci. L'ospedale fu chiuso negli anni 70 e da allora l'isola é inabitata. Potete vedere i resti dell'ospedale ovunque e sentire l'odore della morte nell'aria. Certe statistiche vogliono che sull'isola siano morte di peste almeno 100'000 persone nel corso dei secoli. Once upon a time there was a Catholic Priest: Bérenger Saunière. From 1909 until his death in 1917 he was a non-stipendiary Free Priest (an independent priest without a parish, who did not receive any salary from the church because of suspension). He dedicated his life building a really weird Church in Rennes-le-Château dedicated to Mary Magdalene. He suddenly found something in that Church...Maybe the proof that Jesus Christ had descendants...Whatever it was, he never told it to anybody...A legend wants that on his deathbed, a Priest came for the last confession, and Saunière told him something, no one knows what, but the fact is: after that confession the confession Priest came out with a sad face and never laughed in his life again. I was there a couple of years ago and I have to say: people if you really want to feel a mystic atmosphere and be lost in the middle of nowhere in the land of Cathars...Just go there. There is a lot of information in internet about the story of Rennes-le-Château and I'm not going to repeat it, you have to be there to understand the real mystery of the village and his Priest. C'era una volta un parroco cattolico: Bérenger Saunière. Dal 1909 fino alla sua morte nel 1917 era un prete libero non stipendiato ( un prete indipendente senza una parrocchia, che non riceve un salario dalla chiesa in quanto sospeso dai servizi). Ha dedicato la sua vita a costruire e ristrutturare una chiesa molto strana a Rennes-le-Château dedicata a Maria Magdalena. Durante la ristrutturazione, Saunière trovò qualcosa, nessuno sa cosa, e lui non lo disse a nessuno fino alla fine dei suoi giorni. Una leggenda vuole che sul letto di morte, quando arrivò un prete per l'ultima confessione, Saunière gli raccontò una storia, nessuno saprà mai quali parole uscirono di bocca dal misterioso prete, ma il prete della confessione uscì fuori dalla stanza con un'aria molto triste e non rise più per tutta la sua vita. Io sono stata lì un paio di anni fa e devo dire: gente se volete davvero sentire l'atmosfera mistica ed essere persi in mezzo al nulla nel paese dei Catari...Allora andateci!Ci sono molte informazioni su internet su Rennes-le-Château e io non le ripeterò, dovete andare lì e capire il mistero di questo villaggio e il suo parroco.
